Kobo is about to undercut a lot of e-readers on the market with its new high-resolution Glo HD costing only $129.99/€129.99 (£109.99 in the UK). The new e-reader features a backlit 6″ touchscreen, and its 300 ppi resolution would put it in league with Retina-class displays on smartphones for sharpness. That should theoretically make the device appear more paper-like than lower resolution displays. It’s closest competitor would be Amazon’s Kindle Voyage, but that device costs $70 more. Of course, there’s more to a ereader than just resolution – contrast, refresh rate and reflectivity all matter, not to mentions features apart…
