Football Manager 2016 review: Presentation makes perfect

At one point it was all going smoothly. Inspired by Jurgen Klopp, my Liverpool team was playing a high-pressure, high-tempo game that even the Premier League elite of Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea struggled to compete against. Yes, in this personal football fantasy, Chelsea were still very much considered "elite."

Coutinho, Ibe, and Emre Can performed particularly well, the trio's blend of creativity, speed, and intelligent positioning providing a foundation upon which the rest of the team could rely.

That was last season. More accurately, that was two-thirds of last season. The back end of the year signalled that things weren't as cosy as I had thought. A shocking end to the season saw my team drop out of the Champions League spot, the lack of top European competition making it impossible to attract the kind of player I had placed on my wish list earlier on: the likes of Marquinhos, Pjanic, and Carrasco.

Things aren't going well in the new season either—my managerial tenure at Liverpool is under threat.
