Surface 3 with LTE coming to AT&T this Friday

We rather liked Microsoft's Atom-powered Surface 3 tablet when we used it back in April. At the time, there was a small but significant gap in the product line-up: no model incorporated mobile broadband. Since then, an LTE version has launched in Europe. On Friday, it will be available in the US.

AT&T will have 64GB LTE Surface 3s, starting at $0 up front on a $30 per month plan. The cellular network will also offer the tablet for $399.99 when bought alongside any Lumia smartphone on the AT&T Next scheme. A "commercial version" for business customers will be available in a few weeks.

As with other Surface 3 models, the AT&T device won't include the Surface pen or a Type Cover.
