IBM’s Watson may soon help fantasy footballers choose their lineups

The data analytics abilities of IBM's famous Watson platform may soon be used to help fantasy football competitors choose their lineups.

A new company called Edge Up Sports is aiming to make its Watson-powered service available in time for the upcoming National Football League season, which begins September 10.

People running fantasy football teams—often referred to as "team owners"—are already drowning in player statistics. But there's a lot of other information that isn't so easily digested, including player interviews, analysis, and injury reports, Edge Up Sports founder Ilya Tabakh said in a recent panel hosted by IBM.
