Warner Bros. has announced that the extremely buggy, hard-to-play PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight will return to digital stores by the end of October, nearly four months after it was pulled down amid widespread reports of serious defects.
"As many of you know, we released a major patch for Batman: Arkham Knight PC a few weeks ago," Warner Bros. writes in a Steam page update. "While there were significant performance improvements made to the game, the teams are continuing to work on the additional updates that were outlined in our previous post. We expect these updates to be ready at the end of October, at which time the PC version will be made available for purchase."
While most games launch these days with a few bugs that need to be patched out after release, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight was plagued by reports of stuttering, choppy frame rates, and crashes—even on high-end graphics cards. After basically ignoring the problem for a few days, Warner Bros. took the uncommon step of pulling the game from Steam and suggesting that affected players use Steam's refund policy to get their money back. "We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall," the company said at the time.
