Just one month after Apple released the second version of watchOS, the company today unveiled watchOS 2.0.1.  The update will fix a few bugs, but arguably the two biggest features it will bring to the Apple Watch are support for the new emojis recently introduced to iOS and OS X devices and tweaks that should improve battery life. In addition, the update fixes issues that impacted syncing iOS Calendar events to the watch, the appearance of Live Photos when used as watchfaces, and the process of updating location information.

The watchOS 2.0.1 update requires iOS 9.1 to be installed on your iPhone. You can install it by going into the dedicated Apple Watch app and navigating to Software Update under General. Make sure the Apple Watch has at least 50 percent battery and is in close distance of your iPhone.
