Ars UNITE: Join our chat on government IT at 1pm Eastern

(credit: Stack Exchange)

Join us today for the second leg of Ars UNITE, our week-long virtual conference on the ways that innovation brings unusual pairings together. Today, we examine government IT and how it's slowly being dragged into the future by a public that demands change.

We'll be talking about government IT on our YouTube channel at 1pm Eastern (10am Pacific). Your comments and questions are welcome, before and during the chat. We know many of you folks in the Ars readership are heavily involved with IT, either on the admin side or on the business side, so we’d love to hear what you have to say on the subject.

Our feature this morning, "Slowly but surely, government IT enters the 21st century," has all the details of the topics we'll talk about. In short, government agencies from the local level to the federal level are upgrading websites and building new apps that make it easier for residents to access public services.
